“Waiting for the Lord” (Luke 2:25-38, Psalm 37:7a)
Christmas is the season of cerebration of Jesus birth. Through prophets, God promised that the Messiah, Christ would come. Years by years, centuries by centuries, people waited and waited and waited. And finally the time came, Jesus came.
Today I want to look at the theme of waiting. We will see two people who are waiting. They are Simeon and Anna.
1. A life of waiting
2. The Holy Spirit was upon him
3. Waiting in the culture of hurrying
4. God has a different timetable
5. Patience is grounded in hope, which stands on certainty
6. Invitation for waiting
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.” (Psalm 37:7)
