“Walking with God in His greatness”
(Exodus 14:22) 1. Salvation at the sacrifice of life 2. Faith: Walking through the sea on dry ground 3. A formality or faith 4. Walking with God in His greatness God wants to deliver us from grumbling, criticizing, speaking negative words, and complaining. He wants us to be His people freely praising, resting in Him, praying and serving. We can be His people totally in any circumstances freely rejoicing in hope of the glory of God. Read this message... For Lifenet groups and personal reflection 1) “God’s promise is that those who slaughter the sacrifice, put the blood on the top and on both sides of the door-frame, and remain in the house won’t be destroyed.” What thought might you have if you heard this from Moses? 2) Imagine you are in this situation: The water of the Red Sea is divided and there appears a way. And you are walking through the way. What thoughts and feelings might you have? How can you keep moving forward? 3) Have you ever experienced that God opened a way, but you were afraid of stepping into it, yet you could walk through it? 4) Can you remember the moment recently in which you grumbled, or criticized, or spoke negative words, or complained? What did you focus on at that time? Where did that moment lead you? How did that moment affect your faith? 5) What would you do in order to develop your life (1) praising instead of grumbling, (2) resting in God instead of criticizing, (3) praying instead of thinking negatively, (4) serving instead of complaining? (Exodus 10:1-2) 1. God hardened Pharaoh's heart 2. Pharaoh demanded Moses to compromise 3. Freedom from the law Read this message... For Lifenet groups and personal reflection 1) Each time Moses went to Pharaoh, God’s miraculous sign and wonder happened. But Pharaoh still didn’t let Israel go. If you were Moses, what would you think? 2) Read Exodus 10:1-2 and 2 Cor 1:8-9. Have you ever had an experience where through a trial or hardship you recognized that you actually relied on yourself, and not on God? Have you had any experiences in which through a challenge you came closer to God, or a Godly character was formed in you? 3) Three ways of compromise are introduced: (1) An external form of religion, (2) Refusal to repent, and (3) Limiting God's Lordship. Have you seen any of them in your life? How did they come about? And, which one is the most difficult one for you to recognize? And which one is the most difficult one for you to renounce? 4) Read Psalm 23. How does this psalm describe about the life of “the Lord is my shepherd”? What would his life be like if he didn’t have the shepherd? NILF is an international church in Yangon. Come and join our English Sunday worship service. “God’s people became slaves” (Exodus 1:9-11)
1. The message of Exodus 2. The slave mentality 3. His people, their God Read more... For Lifenet groups and personal reflection 1) The people of Israel had been slaves for 400 years. They needed to be set free not only from the state of slavery, but also from the slave mentality. What can we learn from that? 2) Three characteristics of the slave mentality are introduced. Can you recognize any of them in your life? What does it show about your relationship with God? - A right motive, but a wrong way - Rely on your own ability - Expect the reward for fulfilling your duty 3) Read Exodus 3:7 and Isaiah 63:9. Who is God for you? How God relates to you? What God speak to you? NLIF is an international church in Yangon. Come and join our English Sunday worship service. Psalm 1:1-4
